Job summary

HistoSonics is seeking a Principal System Administrator to lead the design, operation, and reliability of cloud and on-premises infrastructure in a hybrid role based in Plymouth, MN. You will own identity services, backup, DR, and observability, partnering with IT, AI, and R&D teams to set standards and three-lines of defense for security and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in system administration or SRE roles, including senior-level work.
• Experience with at least one major public cloud (AWS or Azure) and governance tooling.
• Experience operating mission-critical environments with SLAs, change control, and incident response.
• Proficiency with observability platforms (metrics, logs, traces, alerting).
• Infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or CloudFormation; CI/CD and config management.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain cloud and on-prem environments, including identity and access management and disaster recovery.
• Lead monitoring, observability, dashboards, and incident response for infrastructure.
• Define infrastructure standards, IAM, and governance; develop reusable IaC templates.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with AI/R&D teams for platform work.
• Own backup, DR testing, and compliance-related activities.
