Job summary

Emerson in Austin, TX seeks a Cloud Platform Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and optimize cloud-native systems. You will manage Kubernetes clusters, implement IaC with Terraform, and collaborate across global teams to drive secure, scalable infrastructure.

You’ll participate in agile sprints, contribute to architecture reviews, and champion DevSecOps practices while advancing performance and reliability in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of five years experience with large-scale infrastructure systems in a production environment.
  • Proficiency in Go, Python, Bash, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or others.
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes (cluster lifecycle, networking, upgrades) and containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience working within an Agile development framework.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience working within an Agile development framework.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • Advanced training in cloud services and configuration management (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Strong understanding of network architecture and security protocols.
  • Experience optimizing performance and scalability in infrastructure systems.
  • Knowledgeable in service discovery and load-balancing technologies.
  • Experience with GitOps tools, such as Argo CD or Flux.
  • Proficiency in DevSecOps CI/CD automation environments.
  • Expertise in backup and disaster recovery strategies within a cloud setting.
  • Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
