Job summary

Appian is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join its Foundational Infrastructure Group in McLean, VA. You will re-architect the platform on public clouds, enabling frequent, predictable updates while keeping infrastructure highly available and scalable for a fast-moving development team.

You will collaborate in an agile, global environment to evolve toward microservices and modern containerization, coaching engineers and driving impactful projects across squads.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years experience designing, building and architecting software in an enterprise software or Saas/Paas environment
• Fluency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Golang, or Java
• At least 5 years of experience working in Kubernetes ecosystem
• Bachelor s in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Help re-architect the platform on public clouds to enable frequent, predictable, high-impact changes.
• Ensure world-class infrastructure is available, responsive and scalable for a dynamic development team.
• Work within an agile, global team to transform the architecture toward modern microservices and containerization.
