Job summary

Shield AI seeks a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate shared platform services across Azure, AWS, and private clouds. You will develop IaC modules, automation, and self-service capabilities for engineering teams, while partnering with security, network, and DevOps groups.

You will own platform initiatives end-to-end, maintain Kubernetes workloads, and advance CI/CD, observability, and tooling using Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Go.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in platform engineering or related DevOps/SRE field.
• Production infra design and operation in Azure/AWS or similar.
• Reusable IaC modules and automation with Terraform/Ansible.
• Containerized workloads, Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Python, Go, or similar for tooling and automation.
• CI/CD pipelines, self-service infra, or developer platforms.
• Strong Linux admin skills and patching/perf analysis.
• Networking knowledge: VPCs, subnets, routing, firewalls.
• Monitoring, logging, alerting, observability for prod platforms.
• Security IAM, vulnerability remediation, secure config practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable platform infrastructure across clouds.
• Develop reusable IaC modules and automation for engineering teams.
• Own platform initiatives from design to production deployment.
• Maintain Kubernetes platform capabilities and deployment automation.
• Build platform tooling using Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Go.
• Create paved paths for provisioning, app deployment, and access to services.
• Set platform standards for reliability, security, performance, and cost.
• Support capacity planning, DR, and lifecycle management.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging for devs.
• Lead root-cause analyses and document architecture diagrams.
