Job summary

ITHAKA in the United States is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to advance how software is built, delivered, and experienced across the product engineering organization. You will design, build, and operate internal- and external-facing infrastructure, with a focus on developer experience and reliability.

You will work with the Technology Enabling Services team to provide self-service provisioning, enforce security, and improve observability using Terraform, AWS, Kubernetes,

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a platform or infrastructure engineer delivering large-scale systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, tailoring detail to audience.
• Demonstrated product and systems thinking.
• Ability to self-direct near-term work and contribute to long-term strategy.
• Ability to drive cadence of regular system upgrades with minimal interruption to consumers.
• Proven experience with AWS and CDN/edge networks (Fastly/CloudFront).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Experience operating Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
• Proficiency in Python or Go.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry or Grafana.
• Familiarity with cloud security solutions like WAFs.

Responsibilities

• Building and integrating networking, security, logging, and application orchestration systems that support products serving millions of users globally.
• Designing identity and access management solutions that promote secure operations with low overhead.
• Working with the Technology Enabling Services team to create safe, self-service provisioning and access offerings.
• Provisioning infrastructure economically and building tooling for engineers to manage workloads.
• Owning reliability and resiliency outcomes for core infrastructure.
• Turning recurring support requests into reusable capabilities.
