Job summary

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's OKE team seeks a senior IC5 software engineer with deep Kubernetes expertise to lead architecture and cross-team execution for a 24x7 managed Kubernetes service. You will own design and operation of scalable cluster lifecycle, networking, and storage integrations, pushing for high reliability and strong operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent in production software systems.
• Hands-on cloud infrastructure experience on OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP, or large private cloud.
• Strong Kubernetes expertise across control plane, APIs, scheduling, networking, storage, and etcd.
• Experience with CNI/CSI networking and cloud provider integrations.
• Proven ability to lead ambiguous technical projects and deliver through other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for major OKE platform initiatives from architecture through implementation and production operation.
• Design and build distributed systems to create, update, scale, repair, and operate Kubernetes clusters across OCI regions.
• Improve OKE reliability, scalability, performance, upgrade safety, observability, automation, and tooling.
• Work deeply with Kubernetes technologies, including control plane components and APIs.
• Design, debug, and improve Kubernetes networking and storage integrations with CSI drivers and CNI.
• Build automation for cluster validation, health checks, failure detection, and remote recovery.
• Lead design reviews, code reviews, incident reviews, and production readiness reviews.
• Debug production issues across Kubernetes, Linux, networking, compute, and OCI dependencies.
• Apply performance engineering practices and production diagnostics across distributed systems.
• Mentor engineers and help scale patterns across the OKE organization.
• Participate in operating a 24x7 cloud service with customer feedback guiding improvements.
