Job summary

PCI Federal (PCIF) seeks a Cloud Platform Architect/Engineer to lead end-to-end cloud design, implementation, and operations for federal agency clients. You will drive secure, scalable, and resilient cloud environments with IaC, CI/CD, and strong governance.

Role combines architecture with hands-on engineering, supporting cloud hosting, data integration, and security controls across the enterprise. Strong collaboration with DevSecOps and development teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years designing, implementing, and supporting cloud-based systems and app platforms.
• Minimum 5 years in cloud architecture, cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or platform administration.
• Experience supporting federal government systems and programs.
• Experience architecting highly available, enterprise-scale cloud environments.
• Experience with API integrations, data exchange, and enterprise data platforms.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and secure cloud architecture principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, administration, and optimization of cloud platforms and hosting environments.
• Develop and maintain cloud architecture roadmaps, standards, and design docs.
• Engineer, deploy, configure, and support cloud infra, services, networks, databases, and related tech.
• Provide day-to-day operations, monitoring, incident response, and performance optimization.
• Ensure platform availability, scalability, resilience, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Design secure cloud architectures compliant with FedRAMP, NIST, and ATO requirements.
• Administer IAM, encryption, RBAC, and secure data management.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps to support CI/CD and IaC practices.
• Design and maintain integrations among apps, APIs, reporting platforms, and external systems.
• Evaluate capacity, utilization, and performance trends; implement infra improvements.
• Support deployments, migrations, upgrades, patching, and releases.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Document architecture, procedures, environments, and baselines.
• Participate in Agile planning, testing, change control, and deployment reviews.
• Support security assessments, audits, and authorization packages.
• Provide technical leadership on cloud engineering and modernization.
