Job summary

PTC Inc. seeks a Senior Cloud Operations Manager to lead a team delivering secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for ServiceMax. You will partner with Cyber Security to enforce FedRAMP controls, optimize capacity and costs, and drive CI/CD adoption.

You will mentor engineers, develop self-service automation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on reliability roadmaps. Hybrid work in San Ramon, CA, with US citizenship required.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience operating cloud production environments.
  • 3+ years of production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • 3+ years building cloud automation using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
  • Strong DevOps CI/CD pipelines experience.
  • Experience using AI/ML to improve TechOps outcomes (anomaly detection, alerting).
  • US Citizenship required and ability to commute to San Ramon 2‑3 days/week.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Engineering to improve CI/CD and release readiness.
  • Coordinate with Product, Support, and Customer Success on reliability roadmaps.
  • Evaluate AI-assisted ops to reduce signal-to-noise and speed triage.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead a team of engineers responsible for designing, building, and operating secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for ServiceMax commercial and FedRAMP product areas
  • Partner with Cyber Security and compliance leaders to implement security standards (including FedRAMP controls) and drive effective incident response
  • Continuously improve operational processes, tooling, and on-call practices to increase team efficiency and sustainability
  • Coach and mentor engineers, set clear expectations, and foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture
  • Drive infrastructure-as-code standards and self-service automation (e.g., Terraform/Ansible) to improve consistency, auditability, and delivery speed
  • Own capacity planning, performance tuning, and cloud cost optimization (FinOps) for production workloads
  • Partner with Engineering to improve deployment and change management practices (CI/CD, release readiness, rollback strategies) to reduce operational risk
  • Work cross‑functionally with Product, Engineering, Support, and Customer Success to prioritize reliability work and align on operational roadmaps
  • Evaluate and adopt AI‑assisted operations to improve signal‑to‑noise, accelerate incident triage, and identify recurring issues through intelligent analysis
What You Bring to ServiceMax:
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, cloud security, and production operations on AWS
  • 7+ years of direct, hands‑on experience operating cloud production environments
  • 3+ years of production experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience building cloud automation using Terraform and Ansible
  • In‑depth experience with Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting
  • Strong understanding of building and operating DevOps pipelines (CI/CD)
  • Experience leveraging AI/ML to improve TechOps outcomes (e.g., anomaly detection, alert noise reduction, incident triage, and predictive capacity planning)
  • Strong communication skills and high emotional intelligence
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability
  • Ability to mentor, lead, and inspire others
  • Must have qualification: US Citizenship
  • Ability to commute to San Ramon office 2‑3 days a week.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $175,000 - 210,000. The salary range reflects a good‑faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a performance‑based bonus.
