Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Senior Network Developer – Topology Scaling to lead capacity expansion, automation, and deployment of large-scale cloud networks. You will collaborate with engineering, automation, hardware, and operations teams to deliver reliable OCI infrastructure, including designing data center fabrics, edge/backbone networks, and multi-cloud connectivity.

This role requires ~10% travel to OCI data centers, including Abilene, TX, and other AI deployment locations, to support builds,

Qualifications

• Experience in large ISP or cloud provider environments.
• Hands-on exposure to Broadcom and Mellanox Ethernet hardware.
• Deep knowledge of routing and transport protocols (BGP/OSPF/IS-IS/TCP/IPv4/IPv6/DNS/DHCP/MPLS).
• Experience with Internet peering, inter-domain networking, VPN/SSL.
• Scripting/automation (Python preferred) and datacenter design.
• Familiarity with automation frameworks, network modeling (YANG/OpenConfig/NETCONF), and telemetry systems.
• Strong understanding of network security design, performance testing, and monitoring.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence product direction.

Responsibilities

• Designs and builds advanced network fabric and systems for large-scale cloud networking.
• Validates production networks and develops scaling strategies for varied use cases.
• Participates in solution design/validation, providing expertise and guidance.
• Identifies risks in design and recommends mitigations.
• Collaborates with vendors and internal groups to align hardware, firmware, software, and code.
• Develops runbooks for investigations and post-incident RCA.
• Mentors junior engineers and contributes to roadmap discussions.
