Job summary

Liquidity Services seeks a Senior Network Engineer to own the design, implementation, monitoring, and support of a hybrid network, including AWS and Azure cloud environments, Cisco/Meraki gear, and Palo Alto firewalls. The role focuses on secure, scalable connectivity for offices, retail, warehouses, and remote users.

The candidate will lead projects, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Security, DevOps, and business teams to modernize cloud connectivity and enforce zero-trust principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience and appropriate certifications may count towards degree requirement.
• Seven or more years of progressively responsible network engineering experience, including substantial hands‑on responsibility for enterprise physical-site and cloud networking environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the network subject matter expert for architecture, configuration, implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and lifecycle management of the hybrid network environment.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers.
• Configure Cisco and Meraki switching, routing, wireless, and site connectivity across offices, retail locations, and warehouses.
• Configure and administer Palo Alto firewalls, security policies, site-to-site VPNs, and remote-access VPN services.
• Own the design and execution of the cloud connectivity roadmap using cloud-native networking for Azure-to-AWS and cloud-to-site communication.
• Partner with DevOps on cloud network standards, security controls, and infrastructure-as-code for cloud networking.
• Lead network projects for new facilities and upgrades, including design, equipment, testing, and transition to operations.
• Monitor network availability, performance, and security events; establish alerts and resolve issues before impacting operations.
• Troubleshoot routing, switching, wireless, firewall, VPN, DNS, DHCP, latency, and cloud-connectivity issues with vendors as needed.
• Keep network devices current with patches and firmware; implement change-control and backup practices.
• Work with information security on defense-in-depth, least privilege, zero-trust, and threat-correlation controls.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, configuration standards, procedures, asset records, and disaster-recovery information.
• Participate in incident response, problem management, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action planning.
• Automate repeatable tasks using APIs and scripting; collaborate with vendors on critical issues.
