Job summary

BLN24 is seeking a Solutions Architect / Lead Developer to support CFPB RegTech platforms, including HMDA and the Small Business Lending Data System. This hybrid/on-site role requires strong architectural leadership and hands-on Scala/Akka development.

You will drive system design, backlogs, and acceptance criteria while mentoring engineers and coordinating with CFPB teams to meet FISMA Moderate and accessibility standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 13+ years of progressive software engineering and architecture experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on Scala and Akka development.
• Experience designing event-driven, cloud-native microservices at scale.
• Prior experience with regulatory data systems (CFPB, FDIC, OCC, SEC, etc.).
• Experience with Cassandra or AWS Keyspaces.
• Familiarity with Kafka in production.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• FedRAMP or FISMA Moderate environments and ATO processes.
• Experience with Login.gov or equivalent federal auth frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture design and technical direction across all five BPA task areas.
• Govern the solution backlog, define Definition of Ready, and own architecture reviews.
• Translate CFPB regulatory changes into technical specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Mentor back-end, full-stack, and DevOps engineers and conduct code reviews.
• Serve as primary technical interface with CFPB's Technology and Innovation Office.
• Ensure all deliverables meet FISMA Moderate, Section 508, and acceptance standards.
