Cohesity is seeking a highly skilled backend engineer to design, develop, and deliver next-generation, cloud-native SaaS products. You will build large-scale distributed data platforms and high-performance services powering our data ecosystem across multi-cloud environments.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in backend development, expertise in C++ and Go, and a strong background in scalable distributed systems, with hybrid work including two days onsite in Santa Clara.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• 7+ years of back-end software development experience.
• Expert-level programming and debugging skills in C++ and Go.
• Proven expertise in building cloud-native, distributed systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and parallel processing.
• Strong knowledge of system performance and scaling.
• Familiarity with AWS ecosystem - S3, SQS, AWS data protection services.
• Proven skills to solve complex problems.
• Experience with debugging and diagnosing production software.
• Ability to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projects.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile development environment.
• Excellent communication and analytical abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver next-generation SaaS products on public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Architect and implement large-scale distributed data systems for performance and reliability.
• Design and operationalize high-performance microservices and data pipelines with fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with product management and cross-functional teams on the product roadmap.
• Drive test-driven development and delivery of high-quality features and enterprise-class solutions.
• Foster a culture of ownership and accountability in the team.
• Participate in Agile development processes.
