Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Full-stack Engineer to drive transformation in Bank Tech. You will work on distributed microservices, cloud-based solutions, and modern open source frameworks to deliver scalable outcomes for customers.

You’ll collaborate with product managers, mentor teammates, and shape architecture using Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field
• 4+ years of software engineering experience (Internship not counted)
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or virtualization tools

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with experience in distributed microservices and full-stack systems
• Mentor other members of the engineering community and stay current with tech trends
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions for customers
• Utilize programming languages like Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript and TypeScript; work with RDBMS and NoSQL databases
• Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and set standards for design, development, and operations
• Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks
• Identify areas for refactoring to reduce technical debt and improve performance
• Influence long-term technology strategy in a 'you build it, you own it' environment
