Job summary

Humana Inc is seeking a Lead Application Architect to drive strategic architectural leadership across enterprise initiatives, focusing on API-first, event-driven, and microservices platforms on Azure.

You will mentor teams, set engineering standards, and collaborate with business and technology leaders to deliver scalable, secure digital solutions enhancing member, provider, and associate experiences.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or equivalent.
10+ years in software engineering or enterprise architecture.
5+ years designing enterprise-scale distributed systems.
Strong microservices and API design expertise.
Extensive Azure cloud services experience.
Experience with Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
Strong containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
Hands-on CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
Security, scalability, resiliency, and observability focus.
Proven ability to lead technical teams across programs.

Responsibilities

Lead architecture and design of enterprise-scale applications using microservices and cloud-native principles.
Define target architectures and modernization roadmaps for strategic capabilities.
Establish standards, reference architectures, and engineering best practices.
Drive API-first architecture and enterprise integration strategies.
Lead architecture reviews, governance, and technology evaluations.
Design and implement scalable, secure Azure-based solutions.
Guide adoption of Azure-native services (AKS, App Services, API Management).
Mentor architects and engineers; lead architecture review boards.
