Job summary

Humana Inc is seeking a Lead Application Architect to shape healthcare technology strategy and drive scalable, secure cloud-native platforms in Azure. You will guide cross-functional teams, establish engineering standards, and champion API-first and event-driven approaches across enterprise systems.

You will mentor engineers, lead architecture reviews, and ensure solutions meet security, performance, and compliance requirements while aligning with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field with 10+ years in software or enterprise architecture.
• 5+ years designing enterprise-scale distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong expertise in Azure cloud services and cloud-native development.
• Experience with Kafka or equivalent messaging platforms and event-driven patterns.
• Hands-on CI/CD and DevSecOps experience; security and observability minded.
• Ability to lead teams, influence decisions, and govern architecture across programs.
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and modern deployment tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture across enterprise-scale initiatives and guide cross-functional teams.
• Define target-state architectures and modernization roadmaps for business capabilities.
• Drive API-first architecture, event-driven patterns, and enterprise integration strategies.
• Champion DevSecOps practices and implement CI/CD pipelines with security scanning.
• Mentor engineers and lead architecture review boards and governance activities.
• Partner with product, security, data, and business leaders to align solutions with goals.
