Job summary

Workday is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Core Platform Integration effort, migrating acquired workloads to CP2 and building scalable, cloud-agnostic systems across AWS and GCP. You will design migration strategies, rewrite IaC, and implement automation for cross-company transitions.

You’ll partner with acquisition teams and SREs, contribute to architecture reviews, and help standardize repeatable migration patterns while communicating across time zones.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software/infrastructure engineering, with 3+ years on production workloads on AWS and/or GCP.
• Proficiency using AI tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, Augment) to accelerate migration work and documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and execute migration to CP2 for acquired companies and rewrite Terraform/Terragrunt modules as needed.
• Inventory services, dependencies, and CSP footprints; craft per-service migration plans and effort estimates.
• Instrument observability (logs, metrics, traces, SLOs) to Workday standards; drive architecture review boards.
• Identify gaps in CP2 paved road and feed concrete feature requests to platform teams with specificity.
• Develop repeatable migration playbooks to accelerate future onboarding.
• Collaborate with teams across locations/time zones and build strong cross-team relationships.
