Job summary

Workday is seeking a Sr Cloud Engineer to guide cloud adoption and architecture across the DMV region. You will lead cloud strategy, migrations, and automation with Terraform/Ansible, while mentoring a growing team of engineers and collaborating with cross‑functional partners.

The role emphasizes on‑site engagement at client locations in DC/MD/VA with strong focus on security, governance, and cost optimization. Prior hands‑on cloud engineering and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on with one or more public cloud providers (AWS or GCP).
• 3+ years Linux experience.
• 5+ years delivering Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or Ansible).
• Experience with CI/CD, containers, and microservices architectures.
• Preference for TS/SCI w/CI Poly security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cloud strategy aligned with business goals.
• Design scalable, secure cloud architectures meeting performance requirements.
• Automate deployment and provisioning of cloud resources.
• Establish governance and cost controls for cloud resources.
