Job summary

Oracle seeks a highly experienced Senior IC5 Software Engineer to join the OCI team, focusing on the Oracle Kubernetes Engine platform. You will design, develop, and maintain core platform capabilities ensuring reliability, scalability, and security of Kubernetes clusters across OCI regions.

Your leadership will influence the evolution of managed Kubernetes services, supporting AI/ML workloads and high-performance computing. Excellent collaboration and security practices are expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience in cloud infrastructure.
• Deep Kubernetes expertise: APIs, control plane, and production operations.
• Go and Java proficiency with strong Linux and networking skills.
• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure and GPU clusters desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across major OKE platform initiatives from architecture to deployment and production support.
• Design and build distributed systems enabling global Kubernetes cluster management across OCI regions.
• Improve reliability, performance, scalability, and operational safety of OKE including lifecycle management and automation.
• Engage with Kubernetes control plane components, controllers, operators, scheduling, and APIs to optimize platform capabilities.
• Enhance Kubernetes networking and storage integrations (CNI, CSI, cloud provider interfaces).
• Develop automation tooling for cluster validation, health monitoring, and failure recovery to minimize issues.
• Lead technical reviews, incident investigations, and production readiness assessments for high-quality deployments.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues across services, infrastructure, and networking layers.
• Apply performance engineering practices like profiling and tracing to optimize distributed systems.
• Collaborate with OCI service teams to deliver integrated platform solutions across services.
• Utilize AI-assisted workflows to accelerate development, testing, debugging, and operations with security and quality.
