Unknown is seeking an AWS/Java developer with 8-10 years of software development experience to collaborate with ITD and DPH data modernization teams in North Carolina on designing, implementing, and managing AWS-based solutions. The role focuses on modernizing legacy apps, building data pipelines, and delivering cloud-native Java applications while applying DevOps, SQL, ETL, and BI tools to support data-driven decisions.
Qualifications
Experience modernizing legacy applications and migrating to cloud environments.
Strong experience with AWS services and building enterprise data lakes.
Hands-on Java development (Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate).
Experience with transactional or RDMS databases.
DevOps practices and automation tooling experience.
SQL development and performance tuning.
ETL tools and cloud-based data tooling experience.
Knowledge of data analytics tools like PowerBI or AWS QuickSight is a plus.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose modernization strategies.
Design, develop and test Java-based, cloud-native applications and backend systems.
Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines.
Analyze data models and business requirements.
Data validation and integrity checks in the database.
Create and execute test cases.
Back-end testing of data processing and logic.
Work with developers and business analysts to ensure test coverage of data requirements.
Utilize AWS services within application architecture.
Deliver within timeline using best tools and practices.
Participate in code reviews and maintain secure, clean code.
Monitor performance and optimize for cost, security, and reliability.
Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues.
Adhere to standards and best practices.
Collaborate with product manager and stakeholders to refine requirements.
