Job summary

Versant3 in the United States seeks an experienced engineer to own cloud and IP video distribution, including Amagi cloud playout and Nevion transport, ensuring 24/7 reliability.

You will design AWS media workflows (MediaConnect, MediaLive, MediaPackage, CloudFront), monitor QoE/QoS, and collaborate with Terrestrial/RF teams. Mentoring, SOPs, and incident reviews are part of the role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience owning cloud or IP video distribution systems in a broadcast, streaming, or media environment.
• Deep, hands-on, production-level experience with Amagi cloud playout and distribution.
• Deep, hands-on experience with Nevion IP media transport and/or TAG Video Systems monitoring.
• Working experience with AWS media services: MediaConnect, MediaLive, MediaPackage, CloudFront.
• Knowledge of SMPTE 2110 and IP networking fundamentals; onboarding includes a 90-day certification.
• Strong communication skills for live operations with engineering and vendor stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end reliability and performance of cloud and IP distribution paths.
• Design, deploy, and maintain AWS media services workflows (MediaConnect, MediaLive, MediaPackage, CloudFront).
• Monitor QoE/QoS and lead resolution of degradations before air or platforms are affected.
• Design and maintain redundant path architecture for 24/7 operations.
• Collaborate with terrestrial/RF engineers on satellite uplink and fiber transport operations.
• Lead system installations, upgrades, and cloud migrations; integrate with SMPTE 2110 environment.
• Mentor engineers, write SOPs/runbooks, and participate in post-incident reviews.
• Provide surge support for major live events and 24/7 readiness.
