Job summary

Zendesk is seeking a senior systems engineer to build, manage, and scale the Search infrastructure across self-managed clusters and AWS-managed services. You will help drive automation and efficiency as Zendesk grows with its customers.

You will collaborate with product management, advocate for performance of existing APIs, and evaluate new cloud services to optimize cost and reliability in a hybrid cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or closely related quantitative discipline.
• Experience operating large systems at scale; building, managing, and scaling search infrastructure.
• Experience with cloud-native development, AWS, and distributed systems concepts.
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Agile methodologies, Unix CLI, and Git.
