Job summary

BAE Systems OneArc USA, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer to develop and maintain distributed cloud infrastructure for real-time simulations. You will design backend services with low latency and high throughput, and lead architecture decisions to ensure scalability and reliability.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate across teams, review code, and participate in planning, estimations, and hiring. In this role you’ll work with Kubernetes, RESTful APIs, and both on-prem and cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development with Golang/C++ or similar backend languages.
• Experience with Kubernetes, RESTful APIs, and cloud environments (on-prem and public).
• Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases and messaging systems like NATS.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain distributed backend services optimized for low latency and high throughput.
• Lead technical design efforts to ensure scalability, reliability, and efficient use of infrastructure.
• Mentor engineers in system design, performance optimization, and cloud-native development.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver robust, production-grade systems.
• Participate in engineering hiring and project estimations.
