Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Development Engineer to lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure cloud solutions powering travel experiences at global scale. You will own multi-cloud platform capabilities, automate infrastructure, and drive reliability while enabling product teams to ship faster.

You’ll collaborate across teams, participate in on-call rotations, and advance observability, security, and deployment automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years (Bachelor’s) or 6+ years (Master’s) of professional software engineering experience
• 3+ years of infrastructure automation, configuration management or container orchestration
• Experience designing, building, and operating Kubernetes-based infrastructure in production
• Proficiency with at least one major cloud provider and IaC
• Ability to design APIs, system integrations, and data models for platform services

Responsibilities

• Architect and evolve secure, scalable platform capabilities across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
• Design, implement, and scale orchestration and infrastructure automation using Terraform, KubeFed, and Kubernetes ecosystem tools.
• Configure and enhance service mesh capabilities, including Istio-based patterns for secure service-to-service communication.
• Drive observability, capacity planning, performance analysis, and environment tuning across prod and pre-prod.
• Advance CD practices by automating deployments and integrating IaC into CI/CD pipelines.
• Take ownership in high-pressure scenarios, advocate for resiliency, and explore AI-driven tools to improve engineering outcomes.
