Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in Go, Java, or Python and ability to read, debug, and evolve code.
• Deep understanding of systems internals (filesystems, memory, networking, kernel behavior) and large-scale system performance.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production and cloud-native ecosystems (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Automation and reliability practices—GitOps, Terraform, CI/CD, observability; diagnose complex systems.
• Collaborative, communicative, and able to own work in a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve internal infrastructure services powering the Confluent Cloud platform.
• Own systems for secure, scalable, observable, and reliable cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate across teams to enable fast, safe deployment of services with platform tooling.
• Manage full lifecycle: availability, performance, monitoring, incident response, capacity planning.
• Support operations across many instances and regions with a focus on reliability.
