Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a backend software engineer to join our Public Cloud engineering team. You will design, develop, and operate critical services that power tens of millions of users, balancing live-site reliability with feature delivery.

The role requires 4+ years of backend experience and deep knowledge of Java, Golang, Python, or Ruby, plus ownership of multiple service instances and familiarity with Agile and Test Driven Development.

Qualifications

• A related technical degree is required.
• 4+ years of backend software development experience.
• Deep knowledge of Java, Golang, Python, or Ruby.
• Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a critical service.
• Experience with Agile development methodology and Test Driven Development.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, logging, and reporting applications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and operate cloud infrastructure automation tools and frameworks.
• Design, develop, debug, and run resilient distributed systems across data centers.
• Contribute to open source tech like Spinnaker and Zookeeper.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
• Write microservices on Kubernetes, Docker, Mesos.
• Address complex tech issues to improve availability, resilience, and performance.
• Participate in on-call rotation to keep services up and healthy.
