Job summary

Raymour & Flanigan is seeking an IT Cloud Systems Engineer in Syracuse, NY to lead cloud initiatives, design scalable cloud architectures, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate with engineering to evaluate solutions, implement best practices, and drive automation across the environment.

The role requires 3–5 years of cloud experience, Azure/AWS knowledge, and strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Qualifications

Associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or closely related field, or equivalent experience.
3–5 years of experience in the field of cloud computing.
Azure and AWS certifications preferred.
Troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
Experience with scripting and automation tools.
Proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans.
Ability to map business needs to technical solutions.
Exceptional analytical and debugging skills.
Must be a team player and communicate well with IT and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
Knowledge of best practices multi-tenancy VPC in AWS/Azure environments
Understand API Gateway service and its functions
Know Azure App Service, Lambda function, and function apps infrastructure implementation/optimization
Design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems.
Ensure secure data storage and processing per security policies and cloud best practices.
Identify and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and deployment issues.
Audit existing systems and recommend improvements.
Educate teams on new cloud technologies and initiatives.
Interact with business units to provide cloud support and recommendations.
Plan, coordinate, and perform system maintenance, software installations, upgrades, and patch management.
Update technology strategy with internal teams to align with business objectives.
Automate regular management tasks and streamline processes.
Support user needs, including troubleshooting and training.
Monitor systems 24x7 for optimal performance.
Lead and participate in defining business requirements for new metrics and reports.
Keep knowledge up-to-date through education and professional involvement.
Perform additional functions as assigned.
