Job summary

General Motors (GM) is seeking a Staff Cloud Identity Platform Engineer to design, automate, and operate secure, scalable identity services across a global enterprise.

You will apply Site Reliability Engineering principles to Microsoft Entra ID and Azure infrastructure, implement identity patterns, and lead incident response and reliability improvements while collaborating with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in identity, cloud engineering, or related fields.
• Hands-on with Microsoft Entra ID: authentication, federation, SSO, MFA, CA, RBAC.
• Experience with Azure fundamentals: subscriptions, networking, monitoring, governance.
• Ability to translate security and reliability needs into identity architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, implement, and operate Entra ID for workforce and apps.
• Implement Entra External ID for external users and partners.
• Establish SLOs/SLIs, observability, and incident response for identity platforms.
• Automate identity and cloud platform tasks using IaC and scripting.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, infra, and product teams to manage risks.
