Job summary

GTN Technical Staffing seeks a Senior Network Security Engineer to lead scalable security architectures across on‑prem and cloud HPC environments. You’ll design segmentation, Zero Trust, and secure network layouts while optimizing firewalls, VPNs, and proxies.

You will mentor engineers, drive incident response, and push automation with Python, Terraform, Ansible, and vendor APIs to improve security orchestration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in network engineering and network security with architectural responsibilities.
• Experience designing and securing trusted, untrusted, and DMZ environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and OSI model fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, proxies, IPsec, TLS/HTTPS, DNS, NTP, and AAA.
• Experience with security vendors like Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, and F5.
• Experience implementing Zero Trust architectures and segmentation strategies.
• Scripting/automation experience with Python, Terraform, or Ansible.
• Experience securing cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable network security architectures across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Lead segmentation strategies and secure network design for HPC and distributed systems.
• Manage and optimize firewalls, proxies, VPNs, and advanced threat protection platforms.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex security incidents and threats; mentor junior engineers.
• Develop automation for security infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management; implement IaC practices.
