Job summary

Genworth is seeking a Senior Manager, Platform Engineering – Cloud Foundations to lead foundational cloud capabilities across AWS, Azure, and private cloud. Based in Richmond or Lynchburg with a hybrid schedule, you will drive strategy, architecture, and product-like platform services to enable enterprise cloud adoption.

You will build and grow high-performing teams, define roadmaps, and partner with architecture, security, and operations to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure cloud platforms

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• 8–12+ years of cloud/ platform engineering experience.
• 3–5+ years of experience leading technical teams.
• Strong experience with AWS and Azure platforms (networking, identity, security, governance).
• Hands-on with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Familiarity with governance, landing zones, and compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of cloud engineers delivering foundational AWS/Azure capabilities.
• Set strategic direction, priorities, and roadmaps for Cloud Foundations services.
• Oversee enterprise cloud foundations including networking, security, governance, and shared platform services.
• Translate cloud strategy into measurable operational platform capabilities.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and security within a platform-as-a-product model.
• Manage incident response, RCA, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
