Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize secure cloud infrastructure in support of federal modernization efforts. This on-site role in Huntsville, AL focuses on enterprise applications, data platforms, and DevSecOps operations to enable mission-critical government systems.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in cloud engineering, hands-on AWS and IaC experience with Terraform or CloudFormation, strong security practices, and the ability to document

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, cloud operations, or infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including compute, storage, networking, security, and automation.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, cloud networking, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise applications and data workloads.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar automation tools.
• Support CI/CD pipeline integration, cloud automation, monitoring, logging, and observability initiatives.
• Implement and maintain cloud security controls including IAM, encryption, network segmentation, compliance, and vulnerability remediation.
• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues while collaborating with engineering, migration, testing, and operations teams.
