Job summary

Providence is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to work in a hybrid capacity. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, operate and improve cloud services. Your responsibilities include managing Azure solutions, deploying cloud infrastructure, and ensuring compliance in hybrid environments.

Job description

Senior Cloud Engineer IS - Hybrid

Cloud Service Engineers work in partnership with developers, testers, and program managers (typically early in the development process) to design, operate, grow, and improve large‑scale, cloud‑based services offered to IS and non‑IS caregivers. Their technical skills are on par with their Development, Test, and Program Management counterparts.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, operate, and administer Microsoft Azure (IaaS and PaaS) solutions, including monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Configure and manage Azure networking components such as VNets, subnets, private endpoints, and ExpressRoute.
• Implement, manage, and enforce Azure Policy in complex enterprise environments.
• Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure (IaC) using Terraform and Azure CLI tools; develop and maintain comprehensive runbooks through automation scripts.
• Build and troubleshoot servers in VMware and Hyper‑V environments; manage and troubleshoot enterprise server operating systems.
• Secure and support hybrid environments subject to compliance and regulatory requirements (PHI/PII).
• Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to production incidents outside normal business hours.
• Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams and lead technical conversations; create technical presentations and documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 5 years of related experience.
• Experience leveraging data and metrics to drive decisions; strong problem‑solving skills using root‑cause analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare environment.
• Experience creating and managing server images with Packer.
• Experience configuring Desired State Configuration (DSC) using AWX.
• Knowledge of security controls such as CIS and NIST.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and ServiceNow.

Salary Range

Minimum and maximum pay rates are provided by location; base pay ranges vary by state and city (see posting for specific values). Additional compensation may be available such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, and bonuses.
