Job summary

MetaCell, LLC is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design, build and operate secure Google Cloud infrastructure for scientific platforms. This fully remote role may require occasional travel to Italy, the UK or US and PST overlap for collaboration.

You will manage IAM, VPC controls, and CI/CD pipelines, run BigQuery, Airflow, and Cloud Run workloads, and ensure security and runbooks. 5+ years of experience and strong documentation are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, deploying and operating cloud infrastructure with strong documentation.
• Deep GCP experience including IAM, org/folder/project hierarchy and VPC networking.
• Proficient with Terraform multi-environment modules and CI/CD promotions.
• Experience with Kubernetes, GKE, and GitHub Actions in production.
• Security-minded, able to implement least-privilege access and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate secure Google Cloud infrastructure for scientific platforms.
• Own CI/CD pipelines promoting changes from Dev/QA to production.
• Manage IAM, VPC perimeters, and organization policies with least privilege.
• Run data and compute workloads (BigQuery, Airflow, Cloud Run) and containerized apps.
• Monitor security, respond to incidents, maintain runbooks, and participate in on-call.
