Job summary

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer for a fully remote role with onsite Chattanooga interviews. You will lead cloud infra design, automate with IaC, and guide migrations while ensuring security, performance and cost control. The position requires Azure expertise and 5+ years in cloud engineering.

The role emphasizes collaboration with architecture and development teams and the use of modern CI/CD tools to deliver scalable cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required.
• 5 years - Cloud Infrastructure and Software Engineering experience.
• Experience with enterprise network design including segmentation models, encryption, logging and monitoring.
• Experience with firewalls, network authentication controls, and Linux/Windows operating systems.
• Experience with logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk, New Relic, Logstash, CloudTrail.
• Deep understanding of Azure and/or GCP experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices: Infrastructure Automation and deployment automation.
• Understanding of Docker/Kubernetes for managing container-based images and their deployment via Kubernetes services.
• Knowledge of Terraform/Ansible, GitHub/Bitbucket, Azure DevOps/Jenkins for pipelines.
• Understanding of cloud security architectures for cloud/hybrid systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for installation and support of Cloud software and services for production deployments.
• Automate infrastructure and services using IaC and CI/CD pipelines to deliver value.
• Design cloud services and tools meeting business needs considering performance, security and cost.
• Collaborate in Agile processes to define technical solutions.
• Manage day-to-day cloud infrastructure tasks: monitoring, alerts, and troubleshooting.
• Guide architecture and development teams on on-premises vs cloud workload placements.
• Evaluate and migrate on-premises systems to cloud environments for resilience and uptime.
• Maintain documentation and educate teams on new cloud initiatives.
