Job summary

Princeton University’s Accelerator seeks a part-time Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate secure cloud infrastructure powering large-scale academic research on the information environment. You will own infrastructure end to end, across Azure, Databricks, and DevSecOps practices, in a small, high-trust team.

This senior role (5-8 years) offers a remote work option within the United States and a prorated base salary range of about $71,723/year to $77,240/year, with benefits eligibility for

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of cloud engineering or software infra ownership experience.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work history.
• Strong Python and another language (TypeScript/Node.js, Go, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure with focus on performance, cost, and reliability.
• Architect and manage Databricks workspaces and large-scale data workflows.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code with Terraform/Bicep; maintain versioned definitions.
• Deploy and manage AKS clusters and containerized workloads in production.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and data pipelines; contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Ensure security, compliance, and cost controls across environments and data.
