Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a Cloud Engineer to deliver scalable, secure cloud solutions for USSOCOM at Fort Liberty, NC. You’ll tailor cutting-edge cloud DevOps practices and guide end-to-end software releases while prioritizing client needs and security.

Qualifications

• 5 years of IT and/or software experience.
• DOD 8570 IAT Level II required (Level III preferred)
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Participated in or led agile development teams
• In depth understanding of Dev Ops methodologies
• Experience with CI tools (Concourse, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity)
• Experience in VMware vSphere / ESXi / NSX-T
• Experience with networking and related technologies (load balancers, DNS, SSL, firewalls, NAT, SDN)
• Experience with Git
• Experience in release management
• Technical leadership for engineers
• Proficient with Linux/Windows OS and file systems
• Familiarity with Ansible and Packer for automating image creation
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs

Responsibilities

• Manage distributed and managed services, automate installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services
• Tune systems for reliability and efficiency
• Guide and manage software releases for new features
• Support users through consolidation and troubleshooting
• Perform server hardware/software administration as needed
• Ensure system security and compliance with procedures
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to engineers
• Contribute to future direction of software and OS improvements
