Overview

GovCIO has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cloud Engineer/Architect at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. This position supports the U.S. Army C5ISR Center, which aims to provide science and technology solutions for Soldiers within Army Futures Command. The successful candidate will work on developing technologies used by the U.S. Army across various platforms, ensuring our forces can see, sense, communicate, and move faster than adversaries.

This is a remote position.

Responsibilities

The Innovation Exchange Lab seeks support for daily operations, including:

  • Designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure
  • Monitoring cloud resources for performance and cost optimization
  • Troubleshooting and resolving cloud issues
  • Developing and maintaining configurations for cloud services like AWS, Azure, including CloudFront, S3, SNS, SQS
  • Administering and deploying AWS EKS, Azure AKS, and related infrastructure
  • Creating deployment scripts for monitoring, reporting, and alerts to ensure a robust, scalable infrastructure
  • Analyzing security threats and applying solutions to customer environments
  • Addressing technical and user issues
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams on cloud solutions
  • Ensuring security and data protection compliance
  • Identifying optimal solutions, adhering to best practices, troubleshooting, and teamwork
  • Supporting the development and operation of cloud platforms
  • Utilizing DevOps methodologies for deploying complex infrastructures
  • Working in agile teams with internal and external customers
  • Developing deployment scripts using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation

Qualifications

High School diploma with 6-9 years of experience or equivalent.

  • Secret clearance required (interim acceptable)

Required Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of software development processes
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Commitment to continuous learning
  • 4-8 years of professional experience
  • Knowledge of Cloud Governance, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, DevSecOps, Containers, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), Cloud Monitoring, Security, Windows & Linux
  • Experience with multi-cloud environments
  • Preferred: Ansible, Jenkins, Python, CI/CD tools like Argo CD, Kubernetes, Docker
  • DoD 8570 IAM/IAT II or III certification (e.g., Security+)

Salary Range

USD $125,000 - USD $150,000 per year.
