Overview

GovCIO has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cloud Engineer/Architect at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. This position will support the U.S. Army C5ISR Center, which aims to enhance Soldiers' capabilities through innovative science and technology solutions within the Army Futures Command DEVCOM. The successful candidate will work in a team to develop technologies for platforms from Soldier to ground vehicle, and from Air to Space. The C5ISR Center ensures our forces can see, sense, communicate, and move faster than adversaries.

This is a remote position.

Responsibilities

The Innovation Exchange Lab seeks support in daily operations including:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure
  • Monitor cloud resources for performance and cost optimization
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues
  • Develop, implement, and maintain configurations of cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Administer AWS EKS, Azure AKS, and related infrastructure
  • Create deployment scripts for robust, scalable, and high-availability infrastructure
  • Analyze security threats and assess applicability to customer environments
  • Triage and resolve technical and user issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cloud solutions
  • Ensure security and data protection compliance
  • Identify solutions, follow best practices, troubleshoot, and stay industry-aware
  • Support cloud platform development and operation
  • Utilize DevOps methodologies for deployment
  • Work in agile teams with internal and external customers
  • Develop deployment scripts using Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.
Qualifications

High School diploma with 6-9 years of experience or equivalent.

  • Secret clearance required (interim acceptable)
Skills and Experience
  • Understanding of software development processes
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell)
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork
  • Continuous learning mindset
  • 4-8 years of professional experience
  • Knowledge of Cloud Governance, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, DevSecOps, Containers, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Security, Windows & Linux
  • Experience in multi-cloud environments
  • Preferred: Ansible, Jenkins, Python, Argo CD, Kubernetes, Docker
  • DoD 8570 IAM or IAT II/III certification (e.g., Security+)

Salary and Benefits
