Job summary

Zebra is hiring an experienced Cloud Engineer to work on cloud projects focusing on automation, security, cost management, and operations. You will handle AWS, Azure, and/or GCP deployments, applying automation and security best practices, with on-call responsibilities as needed.

The role partners with IT and business-facing product teams, emphasizing autonomous work style within a collaborative team. Hybrid work options are available and on-call support may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent IT experience.
• 5+ years in cloud engineering or IT roles.
• Experience with AWS, Azure and/or GCP.

What We're Looking For

An experienced Cloud Engineer to work on various cloud projects involving automation, security, cost management, or operations. Experience is necessary in either Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure and/or Google GCP. You should be automation and security focused. A self-starter who can work autonomously but also fit in well with our current team dynamic. You will work on projects within IT as well as with the Business led product engineering teams as necessary. In addition, there may be times when you will be on call and respond to customer escalations to L3.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Enhance the automation and scripting efforts of the cloud team to identify and automate as much routine deployment, configuration, and other operational work as necessary.
• Monitor and facilitate a secure cloud environment that follows the best practices around least privileged and zero trust.
• Ensure all cloud environments have the proper security and access controls in place to guarantee a trusted and secure environment.
• Address vulnerability concerns whenever possible.
• Monitor cloud costs across all environments and deploy best practices around FinOps to strive towards cost optimization and accurate cost visibility.
• Produces professional-level technical skill and judgment to provide non-routine technical support for computer/data center operation for cloud based environment.
• Contributes to install, configure and troubleshoot server and non-desktop computer hardware, software, systems and other resources in a data center or other centralized computer network setting.
• Consults with team to uphold access control, data integrity and file system security for the computer/data center environment.
• Contributes to monitor, track and record system performance and utilization metrics.
• Creates to develop information technology and infrastructure projects which support on/off premise and Infrastructure-as-a-Service solutions.
• Internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions.
• Collaborates with team regarding company-wide, web-enabled and cloud-technology solutions.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree.
• Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
• 5+ years of experience
• Equivalency: Candidates with 3+ years of experience will be considered with 3 years of relevant Zebra experience, inclusive of participation in the ITDP program
• Python, Jenkins, Terraform or similar for automation and CI/CD type support
• Cloud experience including AWS (Amazon), Azure (Microsoft) and/or GCP (Google)

Pay Range

$96,800.00 - $145,200.00

Annual Incentive Compensation

In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 10% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
