Job summary

SHI is seeking a forward-thinking Software Architect to lead the evolution of our eCommerce platform. You will shape the architectural vision, scale complex systems, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, security, and DevOps to deliver robust, secure, and innovative solutions.

This remote role leverages cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and requires strong leadership in architecture, coding standards, and strategic roadmap development.

Responsibilities

• Architect & Design: Own end-to-end architecture for SHI’s eCommerce platform, ensuring scalability, security, and great customer experience.
• Technical Leadership: Set engineering standards and best practices for code quality and system resilience.
• eCommerce Expertise: Inform design with expertise in cart, payments, catalog, orders, search, and personalization.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product, security, DevOps and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical strategy.
• Mentorship & Influence: Mentor engineers and architects across teams and guide architectural discussions.
• Strategy & Road Mapping: Develop and refine the architectural roadmap balancing debt, innovation, and delivery.
• Continuous Improvement: Introduce patterns and technologies to improve quality and agility.
• Documentation & Communication: Produce architecture docs and diagrams for technical and non-technical audiences.
• DevOps & Cloud-Native: Guide cloud adoption, CI/CD, observability, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaboration & Reviews: Review code/designs to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
• Technical Leadership: Lead design decisions and codify standards for software development.
