Job summary

GDIT in Herndon, VA, is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to deliver scalable cloud-native solutions for enterprise web apps. You’ll join a team responsible for OS-level support, automation, security governance, and CI/CD in AWS, with strong emphasis on reliability and performance.

You will apply Linux/Unix expertise, container orchestration, and scripting to drive upgrades, monitoring, and incident response in a dynamic government-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
• 10+ years of related experience in cloud/devops environments.
• Experience with Linux/Unix administration and enterprise web apps (Tomcat).
• US Citizenship required; TS/SCI with Polygraph preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cloud Operations & Support: Troubleshoot AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, VPC).
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Use CloudWatch, ELK, AppDynamics; analyze logs.
• Automation & CI/CD: Build automation scripts; manage Jenkins, GitHub pipelines.
• Security & Governance: Manage TLS/PKI, AWS KMS; maintain accreditation.
• Containers & Cloud Ops: Deploy Kubernetes workloads and Docker containers.
