Job summary

Virtana Corp. is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to build, automate, and operate the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure that runs the Virtana Platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Cloud Infrastructure Engineering.
• Terraform: strong, hands-on production experience including modules and remote state.
• GCP: hands-on design and operation of production workloads (GKE, IAM, VPC, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage).
• Containers/orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes (Helm).
• CI/CD: building pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar; Git workflows.
• Networking: DNS, load balancing, TCP/IP, firewalls, VPN.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain GCP infrastructure (GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Cloud Load Balancing) using Terraform as the standard for infrastructure as code.
• Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules, manage remote state, and enforce code review, testing, and drift detection for changes.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and release automation across product engineering teams.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting (Cloud Monitoring/Logging, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure availability and performance of production environments.
• Participate in on-call rotation, lead incident response and root cause analysis, and drive remediation to prevent recurrence.
• Apply security best practices across the cloud environment, including least-privilege IAM, secrets management, network policies, and vulnerability remediation in support of SOC 2 compliance.
• Track and optimize cloud spend through rightsizing, committed-use planning, and resource hygiene.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks with scripting (Python, Bash, or Go) and configuration management tools.
• Partner with development and QA teams to define release pipelines, environments, and test frameworks.
• Document architecture, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
