Job summary

Talently is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to own Google Cloud infrastructure and shape tooling and self-service capabilities for engineering teams. You will influence platform architecture, orchestration practices, and the technical foundations for scalable growth.

The role emphasizes autonomous ownership, high-availability systems, and collaboration across teams to enable reliable digital experiences at scale.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
10+ years in platform/infrastructure/SRE with production systems ownership.
Deep hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience (networking, IAM, core services).
Strong production Kubernetes experience with GKE ownership.
Advanced Terraform and IaC across environments and projects.

Responsibilities

Own and evolve Google Cloud infrastructure (GKE, Terraform, networking, IAM).
Build internal tooling and self-service infra workflows for engineering teams.
Design and operate platform capabilities: templates, CI/CD, IaC, routing.
Establish best practices for GCP project organization and access management.
Lead architecture decisions and drive initiatives from problem definition to production.
Define reliability objectives and strengthen observability, DR, and on-call readiness.
Manage complex migrations with minimal downtime and optimize cloud costs.
Review changes, mentor engineers, and contribute to a collaborative on-call rotation.
