Strategic Education, Inc. seeks a Cloud & Platform Engineer to architect and deliver scalable, cloud-native infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.

You will lead end-to-end delivery, own CI/CD, design containers using Docker and Kubernetes, and drive automation and observability across production systems. This role requires 5+ years in DevOps/infra, hands-on GCP and Kubernetes, IaC, scripting, and strong API skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• 5+ years in DevOps, platform, or infrastructure engineering.
• 3+ years hands-on with GCP and Kubernetes.
• Strong experience with serverless architectures and IaC.
• Hands-on Docker experience and container registries.
• Expert CI/CD, Git, scripting, and REST API skills.
• Familiarity with GitOps, observability, and security tooling.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable cloud-native solutions on GCP.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure and platform solutions.
• Own CI/CD strategy, build automation, testing gates, and deployments.
• Design and maintain containerized workloads with Helm and autoscaling.
• Build serverless architectures to improve scalability and reduce costs.
• Establish best practices for scalability, availability, security, and performance.
• Drive observability, logging, alerting, and incident response.
• Lead production support, root-cause analysis, and postmortems.
• Mentor engineers on cloud architecture and IaC practices.
• Partner with product/security/engineering to deliver value quickly.
• Manage complex initiatives in an agile environment.
• Identify emerging technologies and prototype rapid solutions.
• Champion automation and tooling modernization.
