Job summary

Foley is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own reliability, security, and performance of cloud data platforms. You will lead the AWS data warehouse environment, partner with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and business leaders, and drive scalable, secure data systems.

You will own database reliability, performance, and availability, design HA/DR strategies, and optimize cost efficiency in the AWS data warehouse stack, including Redshift, RDS, and related services.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience managing production database environments.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server including performance tuning, indexing, and HA/DR.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data warehouse technologies, including Amazon Redshift.
• Proven experience managing database security, access controls, and permissions in regulated or security-conscious environments.
• Demonstrated AI fluency and curiosity, with experience using automation or AI-enabled tools to improve reliability, monitoring, or efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead administration, monitoring, tuning, and optimization of SQL Server and Redshift environments.
• Design and maintain high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies meeting SLAs.
• Own and optimize the AWS-based data warehouse architecture for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with Data/Analytics, Engineering, Product, and Infrastructure teams to support reporting and downstream AI use cases.
• Secure databases and manage access controls, encryption, and auditing across platforms.
• Automate operations and monitoring to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Communicate risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
