Job summary

Foley seeks a Senior Database Administrator to own the reliability, security, and performance of our cloud data platforms. You will support our AWS data warehouse environment and collaborate with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and Analytics to scale data systems securely as the business grows.

The role focuses on leading SQL Server and Redshift administration, HA/DR design, cost-aware AWS architecture, and safeguarding access controls.

Qualifications

• 7+ years managing production database environments.
• Expert SQL Server performance tuning, indexing, HA/DR.
• Hands-on AWS data warehouse experience with Redshift.
• Security, access controls, and permissions in regulated environments.
• AI fluency with automation or AI-enabled tooling.
• Experience with AWS services: RDS, EC2, S3, IAM.

Responsibilities

• Own database reliability, performance, and availability.
• Lead admin, monitoring, tuning, and optimization of SQL Server and Redshift.
• Design HA, backup, and disaster recovery strategies meeting SLAs.
• Lead data warehouse operations in AWS.
• Own and optimize AWS-based data warehouse architecture for performance and cost.
• Partner with Data and Analytics teams to support reporting and AI use cases.
• Manage database security and access controls.
• Proactively identify and mitigate data access, integrity, and availability risks.
• Work with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, and Analytics teams to align solutions.
• Communicate risks and recommendations to leadership.
• Improve reliability via automation and monitoring.
• Leverage AI-assisted capabilities to reduce manual work.
• Drive database architecture with systems thinking.
• Use AI to maintain, scale, and improve DBA operations.
