Job summary

Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead high‑volume MongoDB and PostgreSQL environments, spanning Cloud SQL Postgres, Redis Memorystore, AlloyDB, Spanner and BigQuery. The role emphasizes DevOps, IaC, and scalable data platforms within a fast‑paced cloud context.

You will collaborate with engineers to ensure data integrity, performance, and availability, while supporting on‑call rotations, patching, and DR testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of related work experience in database administration or engineering.
• Experience administering and optimizing MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and transactional replication.
• Experience with GCP CloudSQL PostgreSQL and BigQuery governance.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize high‑volume MongoDB and PostgreSQL systems in highly available environments.
• Design and own Terraform modules for GCP databases (Cloud SQL PostgreSQL, Memorystore, AlloyDB, Spanner, BigQuery).
• Manage large transactional replication with low-latency delivery and tune performance/cost.
• Implement database changes via IaC (Terraform with GitHub PRs) following security and reliability best practices.
• Establish backup/restore, PITR, HA/failover testing, and DR runbooks; participate in on‑call rotations.
