We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Database Platform Engineer (Senior DBE) to join our team. As a Senior DBE, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our database systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database development, performance tuning, cloud platforms, and automation. This role involves developing technical documents, coaching developers, assisting application teams, and creating functional and non-functional requirements. The Senior DBE will build scalable database solutions using AWS services, develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules using Terraform, and create database CI/CD pipelines. Mentoring junior team members and on-call availability are also required.

About the Role

• Develop technical documents for database structures, designs, configurations, and best practices.
• Coach developers on database development best practices.
• Assist application teams with on-premises and cloud database solutions.
• Create functional and non-functional requirements for database development.
• Build scalable database solutions using AWS services.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules using Terraform.
• Create database CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage changes in GIT for source control.
• Create database scripts, stored procedures, and functions.
• Develop rollback scripts for deployments.
• Deploy database code.
• Implement performance enhancements, including query optimization and indexing.
• Create reports, analytics, and data models.
• Ensure data quality, presentation, and data flow across systems.
• Monitor, maintain, and enhance existing database solutions.
• Collaborate with database administrators on storage forecasting, disaster recovery, and archiving.
• Ensure data security and compliance, safeguarding sensitive information.
• Build automation tools (CI/CD, Unit Testing, IaC) to streamline database processes.
• Migrate large datastores from on-premises to cloud and between database engines.
• Be self-sufficient in daily activities and project rollouts.
• Communicate with senior leadership and peer engineers on product rollouts, milestones, and future features.
• Maintain on-call availability.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 6+ years of experience developing database solutions.
• Expertise in database development and relational data modeling.
• Proficiency with SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS database technologies.
• Experience with Terraform, C#, Python, DynamoDB, and MongoDB.
• Experience with multi-terabyte databases and data integrations.
• Knowledge of ERMs.
