Index Analytics, LLC is seeking a Database Engineer to design, administer and optimize cloud-based database services for a large federal data warehouse. You will work with Data Engineers, Cloud Architects, DevSecOps, and analytics teams to manage Snowflake, PostgreSQL and AWS-based databases.

The role emphasizes automation, production operations, security, and cost optimization, with a remote-first setup that supports flexibility while meeting client needs in the Eastern Time zone.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on Snowflake and SQL experience.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and production databases.
• Experience with performance analysis, query tuning, sizing and cost optimization.
• Experience with Python automation, access controls and database CI/CD.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication and collaboration skills.

Aufgaben

• Design and maintain database schemas, data models, objects and interfaces for structured and semi-structured data.
• Administer Snowflake and PostgreSQL environments, including user provisioning and RBAC.
• Develop, review and deploy DDL and database changes through CI/CD and change-management processes.
• Write and optimize complex SQL; monitor performance, workload utilization, storage and cost.
• Develop Python scripts and IaC components to automate administration and deployment tasks.
• Support integration among databases and AWS services (S3, Secrets Manager, Lambda).
• Implement database security, auditing, encryption, retention, backup and continuity controls.
• Troubleshoot access, performance and production issues; document root cause and actions.
• Maintain architecture runbooks and Confluence content.
