JOB DESCRIPTION

EMPLOYER: Delta Dental Insurance Company

TITLE: Senior Cloud Computing Systems Engineer

Location: 1130 Sanctuary Pkwy, Alpharetta, GA 30009 - Telecommuting permissible from any location within US

Salary: $149,760.00 - $169,700.00/year

Job Description: Develops strategy to execute Azure Cloud Engineering. Develops and implements standards and best practices related to cloud solutions. Leads efforts to provision infrastructure using infrastructure as code tooling. Leverages automation to monitor and orchestrate client environments. Implements Cloud standards, DevOps / CICD tool chain, and Standard Operating Environment (SOE). Supports business requirements through needs assessments and analysis. Keeps systems updated with patches and updates to enable new functionality and address vulnerabilities. Conducts research on emerging technologies to support cloud and infrastructure development, recommending cost-effective and flexible solutions. Works with Kubernetes, Docker, and other container technologies. Deploys all Azure PaaS services (API, AKS, AppService, FrontDoor, etc.). Telecommuting permissible from any location within US.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Cloud engineering for operational and environment support.
  2. Create pipelines and support developers using tools such as Azure DevOps and GitHub Cloud.
  3. Manage installation, configuration, and performance of Kubernetes clusters to host application workloads.
  4. Handle RBAC controls in Azure using AD integration.
  5. Use automation and IaC to work on Terraform and YAML pipelines.
  6. Manage Azure PaaS services such as API Manager, Azure Front Door, Azure Redis Cache, Azure Data Factory, Azure App Services, Azure App Gateway, Azure Key Vault, Azure VMs, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Cosmos DB.
  7. Utilize cost management tools such as ACM and HCL Dryice.
  8. Perform performance and capacity management using Datadog.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, plus five (5) years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Kubernetes support, and troubleshooting. Alternatively, a master's degree or foreign degree equivalent plus three (3) years of relevant experience. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.

Base Pay Range: $149,760 - $169,700. Actual pay may vary based on candidate's qualifications, experience, and location.
