Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior Product Manager for Core Compute to shape strategy for our cloud compute offerings. You will connect hardware layers with developer experiences, shaping compute instances to outperform traditional clouds and manage the compute lifecycle from hardware assessments to features in the virtualization layer.

You will lead cross-functional programs, gather requirements, and drive roadmaps while analyzing KPIs, revenue and margins.

Qualifications

• 12 years of experience in product management or product development within cloud, virtualization, server infrastructure, or equivalent.
• Demonstrate technical expertise in virtualization concepts, multi-tenant cloud architectures, hypervisors, and CPU/IO hardware architectures.
• Demonstrate an ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence hardware engineering, and software development stakeholders.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code ecosystems, cloud capacity lifecycle management, and Linux systems architecture.
• Demonstrate an outstanding ability to understand, define, and communicate the business and technical value of deeply technical cloud primitives.
• Possess deep relationship-building skills and experience collaborating with customers and technology partners.

Responsibilities

• Gathering, documenting, and communicating business and technical requirements.
• Defining and executing the product strategy, roadmap and delivering against the product plan.
• Fostering connections with cross-functional teams, such as sales and marketing, to promote products and gather feedback for ongoing success.
• Analyzing operational metrics and trends to manage and maximize product KPIs, revenue and profitability, building business cases and margin analysis.
• Becoming the trusted expert in alternative cloud infrastructure trends, bare-metal innovations, and the comparative market landscape.
• Synthesizing feedback and prioritizing development.
